Legal
This policy applies to the website docweb.gregus.ch, to the web interface of the application DocWeb and to the iOS app DocWeb Connect.
The controller responsible for processing personal data in connection with this website and the iOS app is 2026 Oliver Gregus. Contact: datenschutz@docweb.gregus.ch.
For a self-installed DocWeb installation the operator of that installation is responsible – that is, the person or organisation running DocWeb on their server. The developer of DocWeb has no access to that installation.
DocWeb is a self-hosted application. The documents live on the server that you operate or use yourself. There is no user account with us, no registration, no synchronisation with a service of the developer and no transmission of your content to us or to third parties.
When you access this website, the web server it runs on logs technically necessary details: time of access, requested address, amount of data transferred, status message, browser and operating system used, and the truncated or full IP address. These logs serve secure operation and troubleshooting and are kept by the hosting provider according to its own rules. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in secure, functioning operation.
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. No analytics, tracking or advertising services are used and no tracking pixels are loaded. The page loads only its own files; in particular no fonts, scripts or images are fetched from third-party servers. The selected language is passed through the address line only (?lang=fr) and is not stored.
If you write to us by e-mail, we process your details (e-mail address and content of the message) solely to handle your enquiry.
On the page Sign in you will find the link to the sign-in page of your DocWeb installation. The credentials are entered directly in the application on app.gregus.ch – they are not stored on this website and verified there only. This website creates no cookies and keeps no user account of its own. The session is only created in the application itself; section 5 of this policy applies there.
The app is a pure client. It transmits no data to the developer and to no third party. All content – credentials, search terms, documents, scans and uploads – goes exclusively to the server whose address you enter yourself. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising services in the app.
The server address and the session identifier are stored in the iOS keychain so that you do not have to sign in again on every start. The password is not stored. When you sign out, these details are deleted.
For scanning documents the app asks for camera permission. The recordings are transmitted only to your server and not to us or to third parties. If you refuse permission, an existing image can be selected instead.
For addresses on your local network certificate checking can be released specifically so that servers with a self-issued certificate (for example a Synology NAS) work too. For addresses on the internet the strict check by iOS remains active.
The app collects no data. Accordingly all categories of the privacy details in the App Store are answered with "No".
The web interface sets a session cookie that is technically necessary for signing in. In addition your chosen language is stored in a cookie. No cookies are set for advertising or analytics purposes.
Credentials, documents and search queries are stored in the database of the respective installation. Who has access to which documents is governed by roles and document-level sharing managed by the operator of the installation.
For full-text search the text content of documents is extracted and stored in the database of the installation. This happens exclusively on the operator's server; no content is sent to external recognition services.
The server DocWeb runs on logs accesses in log files (time, IP address, requested address). These logs serve secure operation and troubleshooting and are the responsibility of the operator of the installation.
No personal data is passed on to third parties and no data is transferred abroad – except to the server that you operate or use yourself. The only exception is the technical handling of the hosting of this website by the hosting provider, which stores the server log files mentioned above.
Since the content lives on your own server, you decide yourself how long it is kept – you can view and delete it there at any time. Deleted documents first go to the application's trash and can be removed permanently from there. When you uninstall DocWeb the data is removed once you delete the document folder and the database. Server log files of this website are deleted according to the rules of the hosting provider.
You have the right to information, correction, deletion and restriction of the processing of your data, the right to data portability and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Since the data lives on your own server you can view and delete it there yourself at any time. For requests about this website or the iOS app, contact the address given above.
DocWeb addresses people who operate their own server. No data is knowingly collected from children.
If the application or the legal situation changes, this policy will be adapted. The version published here is decisive at any given time.
